I’m excited to share my recent road trip to our Nations Capital with my family. Ottawa is one of the most beautiful cities I have visited and whether you are from Canada, or planning a trip to Canada, Ottawa is definitely a city you have to visit. It’s been so long since I was last in Ottawa – almost 20 years ago! At that time we went for the Canada Day celebrations they host every year. I must say, if you are planning on visiting at some point- July 1st is the time to visit!
Happy February beauties! Ever have one of those winter weekends where you just want to stay in, curl up by the fire and enjoy a nice big mug of hot cocoa? That’s just the kind of Sunday I had last weekend. It was one of those days that I threw on one of my cozy lounging outfits along with my favourite new accessory – my JORD wood watch and spent the day catching up on my blogs and gearing up to share a special announcement!
Hey beauties! I know you must be wondering what this blog is about from this title! I have to say that ever since I’ve started blogging for almost a year, I am inspired by many bloggers out there that I have built friendships with. Seeing them thrive just inspires me to keep going from where I have started and never give up on my dreams!
Hello lovelies! I hope you have been enjoying your holidays and getting ready to welcome in the new year!
As 2016 is drawing to a close, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my Christmas home decor for this past Christmas. For the last 7 years I had a green slim tree with green and bronze decorations. I’ve always wanted a white tree and finally got around to getting one this year as Walmart had this tree on sale and I just had to snap it up! I didn’t have to buy all new Christmas decorations as I decided to use the green ones I already had and only bought turquoise accent pieces to give my tree a new look.
Hey everyone! Hope you all are enjoying getting ready for the holidays and staying warm! I thought I would share one of my favourite hot Chili recipes that I enjoy making once the temperature starts to drop.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my fellow Canadians! I was searching for the perfect appetizer for our family thanksgiving dinner when I came across this healthy appetizer on Pinterest from It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken. I didn’t have all the ingredients so I tweaked the recipe a bit. These cucumber avocado rolls are so easy to make and the perfect appetizer to avoid holiday weight gain!
All you need is one cucumber, four avocados, a peeler and some spices. I bought the Titan peeler – it’s great quality and so easy to peel with!
You can either mash up the avocados or put them in a blender or food processor. Once you slice your cucumbers into layers, cut them in half (otherwise it is too long to roll up). Next Spread the guacamole on the cucumber slice and roll it up. No tooth picks needed!
Here’s the ingredients I used:
1 clove Garlic (if you wish)
Sprinkle of Guacamole dip mix for flavour
Pinch or two of pepper
1/4 tsp Salt
Garnish with paprika to finish it off
I thought I would share my little getaway adventure to Blue Mountain. It was my first time visiting the resort with my family – it’s a gorgeous place to visit in the summer. I would love to go back in the winter and give skiing a try (that’s on my to-do list!). Blue Mountain is a perfect place to go for a few days just to get away and enjoy a change in scenery.
They have a cute little village that you can walk around and check out little shops, restaurants and cafes. They have a great variety of restaurants – one of my favourites was Tholos. If you are in the mood for some great Greek food be sure to check it out – but you must get there early as it gets busy during the dinner rush and you’ll have to wait long for a table. If you’re in the mood for pizza, burgers or some great appetizers, The Firehall Pizza Co. is a must! It was one of my favourite restaurants as well – I ordered pizza and it was just amazing and so delicious!
There’s so much do for all ages at Blue Mountain. If you are sporty they have great summer activities including rock climbing, zip lining, high ropes, biking and of course hiking up and down the mountain trails. There’s also tons of off resort activities including caving – be sure to visit Activity Central for all the fun things to do in the area. For the less adventurous you can take a gondola ride to the top of the mountain to check out the beautiful views, play a round of mini-putt, relax by the hotel pool or head to Blue Mountain beach for an afternoon. Be sure to check out all they have to offer and pricing before you go (it can get a little pricey!).
We stayed at the Mosaic in a 2 bedroom suite which was very nice. The suite was in the style of a two floor town home with access through the hotel as well as a mainfloor patio complete with a BBQ with direct access to the village. Along with the two bedrooms, it had 3 full bathrooms, a kitchen and family room. You can comfortably sleep 6 people in this suite. The hotel has a small gym overlooking the outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. Be sure to hit the pool early in the morning or else all the chairs will be taken as it gets packed with a lot of families.
Blue Mountain is a great little getaway spot to visit especially if you want an outdoorsy vacation but don’t want to camp. It’s a definite must for a little fun summer trip!
Hi everyone! I thought I would share one of my travel experiences to Punta Cana, where I stayed at the gorgeous, Rui Palace Bavaro. I went there a couple years ago for my best friend’s wedding and it was the first time that I have ever been to a destination wedding. It was a beautiful resort to have a wedding – they coordinate the ceremony to match your wedding colours. The hotel has a great space for receptions and we danced the night away at this beautiful resort!
If you plan on traveling to Punta Cana, I highly recommend the Rui Palace Bavaro. This resort was so beautiful and really made you feel like you were in paradise. They have two swimming pools and lounge cabanas if you want to stay in the shade. They have a great variety of restaurants with buffets. They also have an indoor gym at the hotel, but we never had a chance to use the gym because we were busy enjoying the sunshine and beach.
Also, what is great about this hotel, are all the little boutique shops right by the hotel and the beach. It’s a definite must for some great shopping to purchase island wear and jewelry.
Another neat thing is they have a photo shop where you can arrange photoshoots – whether it’s wedding pictures or lifestyle shoots with your friends and loved ones on the beach. My friend and I did a photo session at the beach – it was so much fun and the pictures turned out so beautiful! That’s when I started to get back to modeling and got in with an agency working with various photographers to expand my portfolio. It was that photo session on the beach that really pushed me to get into fashion and beauty blogging.
As for nightlife at the hotel, they have a nightclub and a small casino next door which was pretty cool. We always went for dinner in the hotel late then walked around the resort. They have live music with dancers performing on stage – it was always lively and entertaining to watch! They also have a game room to play different games which was pretty cool! Every night we all went to the lobby area for drinks to chit chat as they had a beautiful bar area and they also served ice cream!
This hotel was a little pricey to stay for a week, but it’s definitely worth the splurge! I highly recommend this hotel and I hope this blog has sparked the travel bug in you!
